Round the Gulf of Gökova

You'll leave Bodrum for Çökertme, where the waterside restaurants lay moorings for boats whose guests come ashore to eat. Across the gulf you'll anchor in English Harbour or the narrow inlet at Löngöz, both closed to commercial fishing. At Sedir Island the day boats leave by early evening, and legend says Mark Antony had the sand on its beach shipped from Egypt for Cleopatra.

Knidos and the Hisarönü Gulf

You'll cross to Knidos and anchor in the southern harbour, below the terraces of the ancient city. East along the peninsula, Bencik is a long inlet that almost cuts the land in two, near where Herodotus says the people of Knidos tried to dig a canal to keep out the Persians. Further in, at Orhaniye, the Kızkumu sandbar runs out into the bay just under the surface.
