This Privacy Policy explains how Salt & Lateen collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit our website or enquire about a charter. We are the data controller. We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What information we collect
When you submit an enquiry through our charter form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, charter dates, group size, vessel preference, and any details you share in the message field. When you visit the site we also collect basic analytics data including pages viewed, session duration, and device type.
How we use your information
We use your enquiry data to respond to your charter request, send vessel suggestions, and coordinate with the captain and operator. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. Analytics data is used to understand how the site is used and improve the experience.
Who we share it with
We share necessary booking details with the vessel operator and captain assigned to your charter. Where bookings are arranged through Exclusive Gulets Ltd as broker, contract details are shared with them. We also use Google Ads to measure our advertising: when you submit an enquiry, a hashed, irreversible version of contact details such as your email is shared with Google solely to match your enquiry to an ad interaction. We do not otherwise share your data with marketing partners or advertisers, and we never sell it.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data is retained for two years after your last contact, after which it is deleted unless a charter has been booked. Booked-charter records are retained for seven years for tax and contractual purposes, in line with HMRC requirements.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. You can also request data portability or object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@saltandlateen.com. We will respond within 30 days.
